Benjamin Holland established B. Holland & Sons in 1962 from the garage of his home in Wavertree, Liverpool. He employed two of his sons, as well as his wife and daughter. The business was originally a haulage firm, but soon went in to the packaging industry, dealing in wooden tea chests and sacks before eventually moving in to the buying, selling and manufacturing of cardboard boxes.

In the early 1980’s Ben’s youngest son Fred took up the reigns and expanded the company’s carton manufacturing capabilities with large investments in new machinery, new vehicles and larger premises. The business continued to thrive and customer relationships were fortified by Fred’s endless determination to provide an excellent product together with dedicated personal service and commitment. Many of the firm’s current customers date back to the 1980’s and 1990’s, having maintained their trusted working relationship with the business for more than thirty years.

In 2000, B. Holland & Sons converted from a sole trader to a limited company and in 2004 purchased it’s current premises in Redfern Street. The 20,000 sq ft warehouse was customised to double the company’s manufacturing and stock-holding capacity, with dedicated units assigned to the separate production, processing and stock-holding of packaging products.

In 2008 the reigns were taken up by Fred’s daughter Gemma. Together with her husband Richard, they continue to pursue a commitment to dedicated personal service and the highest quality products at the most competitive prices. Always looking to invest in new equipment and manufacturing techniques, B. Holland & Sons Ltd is approaching sixty years in business with high hopes for the future, keeping customers’ needs at the heart of everything they do.
